Renault Clio, Jaguar XJS + Vauxhall Vectra

Well today we quickly nipped over to Bugle first thing in the morning to collect a faulty ECU that we had previously diagnosed. We are hoping to send this to a specialist ECU reconditioner and repairer- fingers crossed that this will solve the problem. All being well, this will save our customer approx £800-£1000 so it's definitely worth the time and effort.

We are now at St Austell Motor Co working on a Jaguar XJS. This unfortunately failed on it's MOT on a number of things. The customer has a few vehicles so is not in a rush to have it fixed.

Phew! What a busy week we've had!

Well the weather unfortunately didn't shine on us yesterday but I guess we should be grateful for it being so good for such a long time!

We still managed to help a man in Newquay with a disintegrated wheel bearing. He had been towed home by the AA but was stranded 'till it was fixed. He was very happy to be able to use his beloved car again.
We also completed a first service on a Hyunadai i10 in the afternoon. This was for a loyal customer's Mother. She was delighted to find that we were able to carry out her Service without invalidating her manufacturer's warranty.

Servicing

Today we have been servicing a Volvo 240 in Mevagissey. It is lovely to see a vehicle that is over 20 years old in such wonderful condition. It has been in the family for such a long time and is clearly the current owner's pride and joy.

There are a few things that it needs to get it through its MOT but all things considered it has done very well.
The weather has been lovely which has made the day all the more enjoyable. We were even lucky enough to be offered a hot cross bun with our tea as it is good Friday- how kind!

The Sun is Finally Shining!

Well the weather in the usually not-so-sunny Cornwall has taken a turn for the better and we have had a whole week of sunshine! Could this be a sign that Summer is finally on its way, or is it just an example of our freaky weather system? Either way, we are very grateful for it.

We received a lovely review on yell.com this week but unfortunately don't know who it was from tho thank them. It's always nice to get feedback on how we are doing and even nicer to hear when our customers are happy.

Sign Writing

This week has been an exciting one for us! We had a rare break in the weather that allowed us to finally put the sign writing on the van. We are so pleased with it, and even more pleased that the weather has decided to cheer up.
We have had a few gearbox and head gasket problems over the past few weeks. Fortunately the weather has smiled on us on those jobs (for now) as they can be quite lengthy.
We also had one customer who very nearly got trapped in his van when a river burst its banks when he was driving alongside it.

Starting Issues

We have been getting a lot of calls regarding starting issues recently. As the colder weather draws near these problems are likely to become more frequent.

There is nothing worse than dashing out to the car on a cold, frosty morning when you are running late for work only to find that it won't start.
Sometimes this is an unavoidable part of being a car owner, however more often than not these situations can be avoided with regular servicing and maintenance checks.

We are currently offering Winter health checks to help keep your car up and running throughout this time of year.

Antifreeze and your pets

As the colder weather draws near, we start to think about servicing our vehicles ahead of the frost and ice. One of the things as motorists we must ensure we do is to top up our antifreeze. However many of us are not aware that antifreeze can be extremely harmful to our pets. The following information is taken from the RSPCA website: (http://www.rspca.org.uk/allaboutanimals/pets/cats/health/poisoning/antifreeze)

Most people are unaware of the hidden dangers to pets from antifreeze poisoning.

First Blog Entry

Ok so here is my first ever blog entry on our new and improved website. It has been suggested to keep a blog so that we can keep you all updated on what we have been up to. Gavin is currently attending a break down in St Austell. It sounds like someone has had the misfortune of a tensioner failure on a journey. It can be extremely annoying and not to mention scary when you break down. Fortunately as we are a mobile service, we can come to you. Typically this is at your home or place of work, but we can also get your car up and running at the roadside as well. Hopefully Gavin will get this car and the occupants on their way again in no time!
